Keeping
Children Safe
Now you can
safely remove head lice from
your child’s hair without using
potentially harmful chemicals –
simply by using the unique
vacuum-combing device LiceXtractor™
with a fine tooth head lice
comb.
The
LiceXtractor™
is connected to
any household vacuum cleaner and
you simply put sections of your
child’s hair into the device
similar to how you would use a
comb. The suction creates a
powerful air flow that removes
head lice from your child’s hair
and captures them in the LiceXtractor™
filter.
Stopping
the Head Lice Life-Cycle
Using the
LiceXtractor™
for the first time
will remove adult head lice that
left untreated could spread to
others. From the very first time
you use the LiceXtractor™, the
head lice life-cycle will be
broken and as a result, your
child will not be contagious to
others. Head lice eggs, also
referred to as nits, will not be
removed, however they are NOT
contagious since they are glued
to the hair shaft. The process
has to be continued twice each week for
two weeks until
all head lice have been
eliminated.
The process
is very simple. Just follow the
following simple steps:
Before you
start, make sure hair is clean,
dry, well-conditioned and
combed.
STEP 1:
Separate hair into 3 to 6 pony
tails. Separate hair into
sections using hair clips if
your child’s hair is too short
for pony tails.
STEP 2:
Vacuum-comb the first pony
tail using short 2” strokes with
the teeth of the comb lightly
rubbing the scalp. Rest assured,
this doesn’t hurt – in fact, it
feels like getting a hair
massage. Hair should flutter
freely inside the LiceXtractor™
when combing.

STEP 3:
Finish the pony tail by
combing the full length of the
hair 3-4 times.
STEP 4:
Continue with each pony
tail, separating those you have
treated, until you have covered
all hair methodically.
STEP 5:
Open the filter housing on
the LiceXtractor™
and place the
cover on the filter. Next,
remove the filter and inspect
for head lice. Record how many
of each size on the treatment
plan included in your LiceXtractor™
kit if you find
head lice.
STEP 6:
Clean or replace the filter.
STEP 7:
Follow the treatment plan with
repeated steps 1-6 every 3-4
days during two weeks to remove head
lice and break the lice cycle
for any head lice just hatched. After four
treatments, all head lice will
be gone.
Each
LiceXtractor™
is supplied with
six filters and combs. This
allows the whole family to be
treated quickly without needing
to stop and clean combs and
filters after each treatment.
Filters may be cleaned using
soap and water and reused many
times before the filter cloth
wears out. Filters may even be
cleaned in a dishwasher to
remove any dirt that may have
been built up on the filter.
There is no
risk that head lice will escape
when you wash away captured head
lice. The combination of soap
and water immobilizes them and
you can easily remove them from
the filter.
Please be
careful when cleaning the filter
cloth as it is not as robust as
the rest of the LiceXtractor™.
If you would rather not reuse
the filter, then dispose of it
safely and use a new filter for
the next treatment. Replacement
filters are available for
purchase from our web site. |
